Joseph Greene, Rector

Fr. Joe is a native of Georgia, being born and raised in the middle Georgia hamlet of Gray. He graduated with an A.B. in History from the University of Georgia, departed for the wilds of Manhattan to attend seminary at the General Theological Seminary (M.Div, 2006), and was called to serve as curate at St. Columba’s Episcopal Church in Suwanee, Georgia. Here he spent four years and was introduced to and married Ashley Reynolds Greene. Fr. Joe was called to the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Greensboro, Georgia to serve as Rector in 2010. He and Ashley have three sons: J.D. , Reynolds and Asher. Fr. Joe enjoys reading theology and anything else he can get his hands on, spending time playing and exploring with his family, camping, fishing, running, eating, watching football, and going on dates with Ashley. Dorothy Greene, Priest Associate

Dorothy Greene became a St. John's parishioner when she married Jeff Greene in 1951. In the following years, she became a member and then president of the altar guild, an acolyte, a lay reader (now called Eucharistic minister), deacon, and finally priest associate in 1988, a year before Jeff died. As Jeff once said to her, "I brought you into my church and now you've taken it over!" (He was joking). Catherine Bucci, Nursery School Director

Catherine Bucci has been the director of St. John’s Nursery School since July 2010 when her family relocated to New York from the Boston area. Catherine studied Early Childhood Development and Education and graduated from Tufts University. She has had extensive teaching and administrative experience in the preschool setting. Catherine lives in Pelham with her husband, Yiannis, two teenage children, Giorgos and Isabel and their dog, Clyde. [read more...]

Dr. Paul-Martin Maki, Music Director & Organist

Dr. Paul-Martin Maki is a highly accomplished organist and a member of the faculty of the Manhattan School of Music and of Columbia University. He holds degrees from the Eastman School of Music, Syracuse University, and the Schola Cantorum in Paris, where he was a Fulbright scholar. A soloist throughout the U.S., Canada, Australia, and Europe as well as on television and radio, Dr. Maki often serves as a consultant for the tonal design of new and existing organs and is an acclaimed recording artist. Carlos Ortiz, Sexton

Carlos Ortiz lives in New Rochelle with his wife, Carmen. Carlos joined the staff as sexton in 1999. He enjoys his job, especially when it involves working with the children. [read more...]

Debra Quintana, Director of Christian Education

Debra Quintana oversees Christian education programs for preschool through eighth grade, including children’s special events and activities throughout the year. She brings her experience of having taught religious education for grades one through nine for her own two children. Born and raised in Texas, she emerged from a career in television news and production onto this new path. Debra holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin and recently completed a professional certification in social media marketing at SUNY Purchase. She is also a member of Forma, the association of Episcopal educators and formation professionals. [read more...]

Laura Rawlings, Parish Administrator

Laura Rawlings has been an essential part of the St. John’s church office since December 2001. Laura lives in Port Chester with her beloved dog, Casey, and is actively involved at Christ’s Church in Rye. She cherishes her daughter Nora, who recently graduated from University of Virginia, and she fills her life (when not in the St. John’s office) with many, many friends. [read more...]

Curtis Kennington, Wisdom Year Resident

As of September 2016, Curtis Kennington has joined the St. John’s staff as a Wisdom Year Resident. He is entering his senior year at the General Theological Seminary in New York City and will be with us here at St. John’s on a part-time basis until May, 2017. Curt is married to Sellers, and they have two boys, Grayton (7) and Henry (5). Before moving to New York, the Kenningtons lived in Fairhope, Alabama and they are canonical residents of the Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast. Curtis is a graduate of the University of West Florida with a B.A. in Experiential Education. He has served the Episcopal Church as a youth minister, musician and as the Director of Camp Beckwith, the Diocesan Camp and Conference Center. [read more...]
