Indemnification and Insurance
In order to protect St. John’s from liability arising out of events held at the premises, insurance is required as follows:
For non-parish events, each renter must submit proof of $1,000,000 liability insurance coverage, naming St. John’s Church as an additional insured.
On or prior to the date hereof, Licensee must provide to Church a Certificate of Insurance, signed by Licensee’s insurance agent or broker and satisfactory to Church in all respects, demonstrating that Licensee has adequate liability insurance and naming Church as an additional insured party. In no event will Church be responsible for any injury to Licensee or its employees, agents, customers, members, students or guests, or damage to foregoing are hereby waived to the fullest extent allowable. Licensee agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Church and its employees, agents, representatives and other affiliates against any cost and expenses, including any judgments, fines or amount paid in settlement as a result of any civil or criminal proceedings, arising out of or related in any way to Licensee’s use of or access to Church facilities.
Building-closing Policy for Inclement Weather
On any day that (i) any New York State or local governmental authority has issued a weather-related state of emergency that affects Larchmont or (ii) St. John’s Church office is closed because of adverse weather conditions, all St. John’s Church buildings will be closed to outside groups and events on such day.
