Contemplative Prayer & Study Group
Our Contemplative Prayer & Study Group meets weekly on Thursday at 10:30 in the Thorne Room.  All are invited.

We select a book to study relevant to contemplation and action.  Books that we have read include Cynthia Bourgeault’s Wisdom Jesus and Richard Rohr’s The Universal Christ: How a forgotten reality can change everything we see, hope for, and believe.

After a brief prayer, and a Taizé chant, a portion of the selected week’s assignment (usually two or three chapters) is read and discussed.   Even for those who have not been able to read the chapters, discussion is still possible, so do not let that hinder you. Twenty minutes of meditative silence follows the discussion.  Finally, the Taizé chant is sung again.  The meeting ends at 11:30.

If you have any questions, please speak to Wendy McFee or email her at [email protected]. We hope you will join us.

The weekly eNewsletter, special emails, the service leaflet, and Chimes advertise the current and upcoming offerings.
