Guidelines for attending in-person worship

In accordance with the most recent guidelines from our bishops in the Diocese of New York, we are pleased to begin offering outdoor in-person compline services, on Wednesday and Sunday evenings, immediately following the ringing of the bells at 7:00 pm. Compline is a short service, about 15-20 minutes.

In order to best promote the safety and comfort of all, please note the following guidelines:

  • Know that all public health guidelines apply at all times, everywhere on the St. John’s campus: wearing masks, social distancing, using hand sanitizer, etc.
  • Per New York State Guidelines, “If, within the last 14 days, you have had any COVID-19 symptoms, a positive COVID-19 test or close contact with any confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case, please do not attend.”
  • Bring your own chair and your own bulletin. Click here to download/print the bulletin or follow along on your phone.
  • There will be no handouts at this service and no singing.
  • Everyone sitting shall be over 6 feet apart. You are also welcome to enjoy this service standing at an appropriate distance, if you prefer.
