Welcome to our Annual Giving Season for 2025!
For the members of the community of St. John’s, November is an especially joyful time of the year. On November 3, we will celebrate All Saints Day, intentionally giving thanks for the saints in our lives. Also on November 3, we will dedicate the Undercroft and offer prayers of thanksgiving to those saints, both living and deceased, who so generously made this restoration a reality. On November 26, we are happy to host the annual Interfaith Thanksgiving service.
As December arrives, we look toward to the season of Advent. This is the time of year when we prepare our hearts for the birth of a baby who will change the world forever! While preparing for the coming of Jesus, we open our hearts and minds for all that God has in store for our church. The planning of our mission and ministry budget for 2025 plays an important role in this process.
As we experience the fullness of fall, we also look ahead to what God is calling us to be and do in 2025. We are asking you to begin to pray about your financial commitment to St. John’s for 2025. What we are able to do as a church – including worship, music, formation, outreach, communications, fellowship, and so much more – is a direct result of your financial giving. Your giving sustains and empowers our life as a church.
We are blessed to have an investment fund from which we have and do take drawdowns to help fund our budget and close the gap between what our parishioners give and the actual costs of a year of operating expenses. We need to reduce the amount of these drawdowns and preserve these funds so that we are able to care for and maintain our beautiful campus. This is an integral part of our mission and ministry.
So that we are equipped for all that God has in store for St. John’s, we need you and want you to be a part of our life together! I pray you will join me, and my husband Kirk, in prayerfully making an abundant annual financial commitment for 2025.
Please click here for the online giving card. If you regularly make a financial offering, consider making a larger commitment. If you give, but have never turned in a pledge card so we know what we can count on you, please consider doing so. If you are new to making a financial commitment to a church community, I pray you take a step this year and join us as stewards of St. John’s.
Peace and gratitude,
Lisa+
