Here’s information on how to support our live and silent auctions!
The 2025 Christmas Bazaar is approaching! Last year we raised more than $40K for local charities supporting women and children, which was 30% more than the prior year! These organization are facing particularly challenging times. So, with your support we are aiming to raise even more this year!
Last year almost 60% of the funds we raised came from both our live auction and the silent auction. We hope that you will consider donating to the silent auction and/or live auction this year.
What are we looking for? Items, experiences, gift certificates, etc. If it’s something you’d buy in an auction, it’s something we’d love to sell. Last year’s popular items included rounds of golf at local courses, theatre tickets, a dinner for 6 hosted by our amazing Reverend, boat outings on the Sound, Kirk’s famous layer cakes, gift certificates to local restaurants, and special bottles of wine.
What’s the difference between the live and silent auction? The live auction takes place at the preview party. The Church’s parishioners are the buyers. For example, if you decided to donate your vacation home or a sailing experience, the buyer would likely be someone you knew. We’re focused on live auction items with a value greater than $1,000 and where we can set a meaningful opening bid. The silent auction, however, is open to the public but disproportionately supported by parishioners. These items have a much wider price range, from $25 to several hundreds of dollars.
